Message from mentors
Hi everyone! I’m Caitlin, a junior in High School who loves reading and singing. I took on the role of Co-Head because of my passion for supporting students in need and my commitment to creating opportunities for them to thrive. I strongly believe that every student, regardless of their background or circumstance, deserves the chance to reach their fullest potential. Being part of this team allows me to make a meaningful impact in their lives while growing as a leader. By connecting volunteers who are eager to help and students who are looking for personal guidance, I strive to make P2P a community of lasting bonds built on mutual growth that can support both mentors and mentees beyond their education.
Hi, I’m Jamie! I am currently a sophomore studying in the United States. I play tennis and run a lot while also enjoying playing the guitar and listening to music. I am currently the Co-Head of Peer2Peer because I believe it is important for everyone to have the same quality of education. I hope that the youth in Hong Kong is able to grow into future leaders and that everyone should have a commitment to developing that dream. By being in the management team I am able to find mentors willing to help and mentees willing to gain new experiences and learn more. I hope that along with my management team we can grow P2P into a foundational group that supports the youth of Hong Kong for a better future.
I want to be a mentor at Peer2Peer because I firmly believe that every student deserves access to guidance and support, regardless of their circumstances. Mentorship can provide these young individuals with the encouragement and resources they need to overcome challenges and achieve their goals. I’ve always learnt best through brainstorming with peers and discussion, and I believe mentorship program really plays to my strengths, and I believe it can bring a lot of benefits to a student’s learning.
I’m Nick from St. Paul’s Co-educational College. I enjoy playing chess and doing maths! As a mentor at P2P, I find it rewarding to help students in need. I think being a mentor is meaningful, as it benefits those who lack sufficient support and need extra assistance. I believe that over time, we can create a positive impact our mentees through mentoring.
I want to be a mentor because i love working with children and peers to help better grasp topics and sharing tips on ways to understand content and not rely purely on memorization.
I’ve gained valuable leadership insights from my past experiences such as Model United Nations and Vice Captain of Cross Country Team. peer2peer provides a platform for me to showcase my leadership skills and contribute to the community. I’ve been passionate about equal education and I’ve gained experience in tutoring under privilege students in Cambodia for over 6 months, I believe I will become a good mentor with my cheerful and supportive personality.
I want to be a Student Mentor in Peer2Peer because I recognise the importance of education and mentorship and how it can positively impact the lives of students in Hong Kong. I am interested in this opportunity as I want to contribute to connecting educational disparities in Hong Kong and ensuring inclusive access to quality education for all students. By being a mentor in Peer 2 Peer, my goal is to help students improve in academics, athletics, and English. I am passionate about creating a supportive community among students. This experience allows me to learn more on the challenges faced by students in Hong Kong and also develop new skills of teaching to gain more experience.
I would like to become a mentor so I could gain more experience in teaching and interacting with children, as well as develop my patience and communication skills through tutoring children with their schoolwork. I also enjoy teaching children, and it is always very fulfilling to help the children at the end and help them solve a problem. I did not have the privilege of having a tutor to teach me homework when I was small, so I hope that through this opportunity, I can help more children with their schoolwork. Overall it will be a very meaningful experience while it also helped me to broaden my social circle and train my confidence as well.
Having a passion for teaching, I'm eager to be part of Peer2Peer to educate and pass on my knowledge to others! My favorite subjects at school are science-related (biology, chemistry, etc.). Outside of the academic side of things, I play three instruments: the violin, piano, and double bass, and I have all achieved a grade level 8 in them. In addition to this, I regularly play sports, including swimming, football, and sailing.
I would like to be a mentor and make a difference in other student's lives. I find that pressure can come from struggling in school, and being able to get extra help can definitely make things less stressful and relieve some pressure. This mentoring volunteering would also count as a part of my community action project for my IGCSE global citizenship subject at school, where I have chosen something that I'm passionate about.
Peer2peer helps underprivileged kids in Hong Kong, therefore I'm interested in participating in the activities, contributing to the community while helping aid in alleviating educational inequity in Hong Kong. Equal opportunities are crucial, especially in an increasingly global society where underprivileged local students must compete with others who have better educational backgrounds and access to welfare. I hope that I can learn from my experience in being a mentor, while at the same time help my mentee improve in their studies.
I want to become a mentor because I want to bridge the education gap and help in providing equal opportunities in learning and education enrichment for all. Personally, I want to teach as a fellow peer rather than a teacher, making it interesting and fun for the mentee.
It all stemmed from my myriad learning experiences. These include completing the IB Diploma programme abroad, participating in many science competitions, and engaging in various performing arts disciplines. These valuable experiences have reaffirmed my belief that a balanced approach to student life far outweighs a tunnel-visioned one in terms of academic performance, physical and mental health, and future outlook. I was ecstatic to learn that Peer2Peer offers a broad range of programmes to cater to the different, yet equally important, needs of a student. Recognizing the value of well-roundedness is what inspires me to become a mentor at Peer2Peer.
I am deeply committed to education and mentorship, recognizing their transformative impact on personal and academic development. My experiences as a mentor, tutor, and student teacher have reinforced my belief that individualized guidance and a supportive learning environment can empower students to overcome challenges and reach their full potential. As a mentor at IntoUniversity, I provide tailored one-on-one support, assisting students in setting academic goals, exploring future opportunities, and developing effective learning strategies. Beyond academic guidance, I strive to create a supportive space where students feel encouraged to develop confidence and resilience. This experience has strengthened my ability to listen, adapt, and offer practical solutions that cater to individual needs. I am particularly drawn to Peer2Peer, as I firmly believe that mentorship provides a unique and invaluable opportunity for students to learn from and support one another.
I'm interested in becoming a mentor because I find fulfillment in helping others grow and overcome challenges. Sharing my knowledge and experiences not only benefits others but also allows me to develop my own skills, such as leadership and communication. This project fosters meaningful connections and gives me the opportunity to give back, making a positive difference in someone else's life. I am also motivated to help younger children in their studies as I believe education plays a major role in one's life. This can help impact children' academic challenges through development by learning from different perspectives.

I truly appreciate you dedicating your valuable time to prepare lesson content and for teaching my daughter voluntarily. I sincerely hope that under your guidance and inspiration, my daughter will place more importance on learning English, actively read books, and engage in learning English. At the same time, I hope you can learn something from the teaching process, such as teaching and communication skills, and I also hope you find satisfaction and positive thoughts within yourself. I hope this will be a wonderful memory for you, and it will certainly be a beautiful memory for us as well!"
